Hope you all are enjoying the holiday weekend and keeping warm inside to get away from another rain storm.

Unfortunately, I am recovering from getting quite sick over the last week or so, but I am starting to feel a bit better.

It was so bad, that I had to miss a couple recent events that were hosted by our community and others from our partners. I sadly missed you all, for those who attended!

But I should be feeling well enough to attend our upcoming event on Wednesday this week with AI LA.

Below, I will recap a recent event the week before last that we did with the Wharton & Harvard alumni communities in LA.

I'm Brandon Hoffman, the founder of Emerging LA. After stints on Wall Street and Silicon Valley, I was excited to return home to Southern California in 2019 and settle in Los Angeles.

Wharton & Harvard LA VC Happy Hour had 144 guests!

On Friday, February 9th, our Emerging LA Wharton & Harvard Happy Hour event brought together 144 guests.

We celebrated the Wharton MBA students who traveled from Philadelphia to meet with alumni and friends of the LA tech and venture community.

The event kicked off at 5:00 PM with a lively networking session and spilled over for an hour and a half!

As an alum who is from & based in SoCal, it was great to bring together Wharton and Harvard local alumni to exchange stories and forge new relationships.

We took over the whole space at The Tiato Kitchen and Garden, which was the perfect place for us to mingle.

Not only do the Tiato owners have ties to Wharton, but, as you can see, they put up an amazing display in honor of the Lunar New Year!

With the festive atmosphere, it felt like a perfect night to celebrate new beginnings and new connections.

By the end of the night, we had filled up on good conversation and good energy in the spirit of collaboration and innovation that define both the Wharton and Harvard communities.

And, of course, it never hurts to end a day by soaking up the beautiful Santa Monica sunset before an evening event! 🤩
